In 2012, Oriol Castro Forns, Eduard Xatruch Cerro & Mateu Casañas Puignau decided to become partners, creating their CXC brand out of the need to encompass all the projects they were currently working on under the same umbrella. Oriol, Eduard & Mateu met as chefs working at Ferran Adria’s legendary Spanish restaurant elBulli. In December 2014, the trio opened Disfrutar in Barcelona. The restaurant presented its gastronomic offering in the shape of a tasting menu. With Disfrutar, the 3 partners built a creative restaurant that seeks to please, surprise, excite and create through gastronomy. Located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, it transmits, through its design, respect for the history and heritage of the Mediterranean, which inspired the decoration. The ceramics are the common thread throughout the interior space. Today, Disfrutar has secured some of the most significant recognition in the culinary world including being awarded Best Restaurant in the World in 2024 (World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards), 3 Michelin Stars, First prize in the Interior category at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2015, and Best foreign chefs in the Italian guide Identità Golose 2017 to name a few.
